Julius 100th Memorial

Coming on April 29th, 2023, is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Julius Leo Roth – know as Julie, Jules, Dad, Grampa, and even Great Grampa Jules. We have touched up the autobiography he started, organized some 150 letters, and 2 1/2 hours of video he took as a teen and young father. (These are on private pages, family members can get access by emailing Rich)

Family history back to Key West FL in 1889

We just received a copy of The Jews of Key West: Smugglers, Cigar Makers, and Revolutionaries (1823-1969). It explains a mystery we have been tracking, how Rich’s great grandfather, Abraham Horn, a Romania Jew, ended up in Key West. He died in 1896, when Rich’s grandmother was 6 months old. We found his tombstone when we visited about 2009, it’s the largest one in the old Jewish cemetery. This book actually mentions Abraham (pg 52+54).
